YYC-based makeup artist with 3 years of experience, @MoonSpriteSFX is known for bold SFX and imaginative beauty looks that blur the line between makeup and magic. She’s now expanding into fashion and editorial work, and working toward IATSE membership to step into the world of film & TV. Ultimate dream? Opening her own FX studio.

She brought her creative fire to this shoot, crafting the makeup looks for our recent spring collection.

✨ For look 2, the vibe was luminous elegance. Think: glowing golds, ethereal highlight, and a softness that radiated power. The look captured jasmine-like beauty, which was gentle, radiant, and unforgettable.

🌿 For look 4, she created a look kissed by sunlight: glowing skin and delicate details that echoed the handcrafted florals. The makeup whispered softness and rooted strength, magic that blooms, not hides.

Rekha is an elderly woman, and the aim is to emulate old Indian Bollywood through these images—a blend of classiness, elegance, and modesty, with an overarching sense of wisdom. Jeevan's journey through the five stages of grief revealed his emotional progression, each stage reflecting his inner turmoil and struggle. 💔✨ Jeevan is the main character in Katha, whose experiences illustrate the complexities of dealing with loss.

His sweater, crafted from two cotton pillowcases and the arms of an old sweatshirt, along with pants and a shirt stitched from cotton bedsheets, told a powerful story. A heart was thoughtfully detached from a quilt and reattached, symbolizing his brokenness. The muted colors of the outfit captured his pain and vulnerability as he navigated this challenging journey.

The last few months working with Madhuban Performing Arts on “Katha” have been an incredible journey for the Aquativity Project! 🌊✨ As a youth-run non-profit dedicated to upcycling fashion, we transform old and waste textiles into new South Asian pieces, creatively repurposing fabrics to give them a second life. Our goal is to promote sustainability while preserving traditional styles through modern, eco-friendly designs.
Each outfit in this gallery was hand-designed to reflect the unique personality of the character it represents. By thoughtfully selecting and upcycling materials, every piece tells a story, blending individuality with sustainable fashion rooted in South Asian culture.
